I am a real jet setter. My job, which I love above anything else, makes me travel the world. In between I go to uni or take seminars abroad. I am constantly blogging, photographing, snapchatting, but also answering emails, planning trips, planning projects and doing much more computer work. This means that I’m either en route or in a hard-working office mode. And I’m sure I’m not the only one struggling to achieve a good work-life balance. Wether you study or work, I bet you know this problem!
But I have learned that it is so important to take time off. And not only to take time off by yourself. One thing that really calms me down and brings my thoughts back to earth is spending time with my family. Also, I am self-employed in order to be my own boss and to be able to manage my time, so I would have some for my loved ones as well!
I feel like I really am myself when I’m with my family. Today I went to the sauna with my mum and dad and and laughed so much whilst reminiscing about past times, Lili and I sang, cooked, watched films together, cuddled in my bed, gossiped, slept in. Business lady during the week – just me at home. That feeling of letting all work-related things go for a while and just be me is so good. So relieving. It brings me back to earth and the talks with my mum often remind me where I am going, what I am aiming for, why I started in the first place, and most of all: who I really am.
We had such a wonderful weekend, cooking, eating, talking, drinking tea, watching The Voice on TV, and of course going to the sauna and swimming in the almost-frozen lake by our lake house. And this was the first time I managed to film and (most of all!) edit a vlog for you to see! There you can watch crazy me in the crazy cold water! Hope you like it!
Let me know if you liked the vlog and if you’d like me to film more –
I’d love to hear your thoughts, as I’m pretty unsure myself!
