Pretty / unpretty

Since yesterday I’ve been feeling so inspired by a song that I feel like I could burst with feelings ever single time I hear it. And after reading so many of the comments below the video (I love youtube comments btw!) I decided to share the song with you.

It perfectly describes how I feel about body images. You can change your hair, you can have your nose fixed, you can have your eyebrows picked, but does it help if you’re unhappy on the inside?

No, it doesn’t.

There are so many things in life that are worth so much more. Friends, family, love, travelling, school, doing things that you enjoy, doing things that you’re good at, doing things that you’re proud of. Concentrate on these aspects of life, not on your looks. I myself have very very irregular eyebrows that annoy me from time to time. But do they hold me back from blogging, running, travelling, having fun, being happy? No, because I have learned what really matters in life.

It doesn’t matter whether you are pretty or unpretty. You are all beautiful, as long as you’re beautiful on the inside. You are unique. You are a miracle and I believe in every single one of you.

The song is from Glee, a series that I still love despite my age. The music is amazing and the saying is beautiful. Be yourself. Be unique. You might not succeed in the beginning, but you definitely will on the long run.
