How does one start a happy life and how you can I accomplish my dreams? How is it possible to be satisfied every day?
We constantly hear comments like: when I lose 5kg, I will be satisfied. If I had thinner legs, I would find me beautiful. If I manage to run three times a week, I can be proud of myself. When I don’t manage to eat any more sugar, my diet will be okay. I would be pretty, if didn’t have these hamster cheeks.
If if if if! It’s always if! But the question is – why can’t we be happy and satisfied already?
I know exactly how it feels though. Ever since I was 14 and noticed that my legs are much shorter than those of other girls, that I am a lot shorter and still weight the same, that I don’t have a petite doll face and that my sister has much thicker hair and fuller lashes than me, I thought exactly that way. “If I only manage to run more and eat less I will get narrower legs and maybe look okay. If I lose some weight, my face will be more delicate. And if my hair finally grew …”
Between 14 and 18 I went on several diets, weighted more and weighted less, ran, swam, and got more dissatisfied with myself by the day. Did it all make me happy? No. Until I one day realized that I’m ok the way I am.
And ever since that moment I’ve been a happy girl. I can now enjoy my life. I do a lot of sports, my diet is healthy, BUT I treat myself a lot and remember to take hours and even days off just to enjoy myself. To relax and take some time for just me. I take care of myself. And this is so important! It all begins with selfcare. Then comes selfacceptance. And then selflove. And by loving ourselves we can learn to love life too.
Lovelies, welcome to #SelfloveSaturday! From now on you will find some selflove advice here every Saturday – and I hope we can push each other and reach a very important goal together: a happy and satisfied life!
