How to learn the splits

One thing that I am proud of is the fact that I can do the splits. It reminds me of 10 years of dancing, it’s something not everyone can do and it’s something that will always be admired. And even though I’m definitely not into yoga (I really don’t get that breathing part), I love stretching. Preferably while watching TV (you know I get easily bored) or after a good workout while listening to the radio or an audiobook. I first learned the side splits, then the middle splits and can now do them all without even warming up. It’s quite a cool thing to do at any photoshoot. πŸ˜‰

Anyways, how did I stretch and what did I do to learn the splits? Down below you can see my excercises. First I wasn’t able to do them with my knees straight or my legs as wide oben, but that’s the task – that’s where we’re trying to get. I did these stretches at least three times a week and it didn’t take you long to get to the splits!

BUT before I start stretching I ALWAYS warm up, which is really important! I jump around, run or dance for at least five minutes, otherwise it’s possible to pull a muscle and that will be the end of the stretching! (Fun fact: I learned the left splits after I had pulled the muscles of my right leg!)

Hold every pose for at least twenty seconds before switching sides. I always stretch every side at least twice before doing the middle stretch and then going into the splits.

I really hope these excercises are helpful – tell me how it goes! Also check out my ab workout and let me know if you want more excercises from me!
