Fitness Retreat Workouts

You might have seen what happened to my abs during my time in Greece – well, they turned into real, proper sixpack-like abs. Everyone is going crazy about this short video clip on my Instagram, and as the most common question was what the heck we did to tone my abs that much in a week’s time, I’ll tell you the secret now.

The secret is: High intensity circuits twice a day, paired with more activity and healthy food. Yep, sounds hard. And it was hard, but it was fun too, because during a retreat you get to train with people, who will soon turn into your friends, you will have an amazing coach motivating you and of course there are palm trees, a pool and the Greek sky surrounding you, which doesn’t do any bad either. 😉

The workouts focused on either legs, abs, upper body or just the whole body and mostly looked like this:

8 different exercises – 50 seconds each – 10 seconds to change exercises – 3 rounds


And the exercises were haaaaaard, that I can tell you! Squat jumps, frog jumps, supermen, knee tucks on balls, proper pushups and lots of burpees. What made it extra sweaty was the fact that we had just 10 seconds to change from one exercise to the next. That’s why it’s called HIT (high intensity training) and that’s what you should also do if you really want to push yourself! Our fitness supermodel coach Camilla also made sure we did a lot of cardio, so we’d burn those little fat layers that covered our muscles. And that’s definitely what happened to me!


The workouts always lasted about 50 minutes and took part twice a day (once before breakfast and once in the afternoon) and I am very proud to say that I was the only person that didn’t miss a single workout!! And in between we walked to the beach, went cycling, swam in the pool, Lili and I practised our head- and handstands and were overall very active (laying by the pool all day really isn’t my thing!) 😀
